2G HAND CONTROLLER CALIBRATION
The 2G Digital hand held remote is calibrated to maximum speed, neutral and brake positions at the factory. Over time and due to drops or even regular handling, it may need to be re- calibrated which is a fairly simple procedure. If you have one of these problems, re-calibration will probably fix your issue:
- Brake is not engaging properly when remote is pushed forward
- Motor is moving or braking in the neutral position
- Motor is not accelerating to maximum speed even though speed switch is set to high
|
|
If you are experiencing any of these issues with the digital hand held remote, try to re-calibrate following these simple steps below.
|
| |
|
|
- Turn the handheld remote to the side without logos printed on it, remove the two screws on the handle and lift handle cover. Use a paperclip and insert into reset hole as in picture above and follow these steps.
- Hold down reset button with paper clip while turning remote ON, then release reset button.
- When RC beeps once, pull lever all the way back (to set max power setting) and release (do not hold in max power position.
- When RC beeps twice, leave lever in neutral position (to set neutral)
- When RC beeps three times, push lever all the way forward (to set max brake position) and release.
- When RC beeps 4 times, you are done, turn off the RC. If you made a mistake, start over.
- To test, turn on board, then remote, wait 10 seconds, then test max power, neutral and max brake before using board.

TURNING ON YOUR BOARD & HOW THE NEW DCM/CONTROLLER “LOCKS ON”
The new 2009 boards are engineered to be interference-free and to “lock on” using our new 2G Digital Wireless technology. IF RIDING IN GROUPS, TURN ON ONLY ONE BOARD AT A TIME. Follow these steps: Turn the board on first, and then stand the board up vertically by holding the front truck, so that the drive wheel is not touching the ground. Then turn on the Hand Controller and wait a full 10 seconds while the board and controller link and lock on. Squeeze the trigger to make sure the units have connected. Set the board down and you’re ready to ride! The 2G feature allows only the “locked on” controller to communicate with that particular board, meaning NO INTERFERENCE from other riders nearby or any other devices on any frequency. Turning either unit off breaks the locked on link and will require a repeat of these steps to create a locked on signal.
If the controller makes a low, single volume noise after it’s turned on, the controller is letting you know that either 1) its AAA batteries are exhausted and should be replaced, or 2) that the controller is too far away from the board to remain connected. Do not ride the board with low batteries. Also, when the battery pack on the board gets low, the motor controller will cause the motor to pulse letting you know you’re reaching the end of your ride time and that it’s time to recharge. Recharging takes about 4 hours. Please contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
