HOW TO INSTALL A NEW BELT ON YOUR ELECTRIC SKATEBOARD
| Step 1: First, get the proper tools together. You'll need a 1/2" nut driver, skate tool or socket wrench. The right size philips head screwdriver and maybe a flat head screw driver to help with taking off the belt housing cover. Also some WD-40 type of lubricant may help if the wheel is sticking on the truck's axle. |
| Step 2: Next take off the belt housing cover by removing the two screws. On the 600 models the lock tight maybe hard to break loose, so make sure you have the right size screw driver to avoid stripping out the screws. |
| Step 3: Remove the belt housing cover... |
| Step 4: Next remove the wheel nut and the speed ring washer. |
| Step 5: Wiggle the wheel back and forth to pull it off the axle. Sometimes you may have to use WD-40 to help it slide off. |
| Step 6: Be sure not to loose the speed washers, there are two for each wheel one above and one below it. |
| Step 7: Slide the new belt and wheel onto the axle. Sometimes it's takes a moment to get the wheels bearings and internal spacer to line up, as the wheel is installed. |
| Step 8: Next, stretch and roll the belt around the motors gear similar to installing a bike chain. |
| Step 9: Spin the wheel around a few times to see that it's on right and working properly. |
| Step 10: Put the speed washer and nut on using the 1/2" nut driver or socket wrench. Tighten so that the wheel is snug but still has the ability to spin smoothly. |
| Step 11: Last install the belt housing cover and test it with your wireless controller. |

| Why do belts break? The number one reason is that in many cases the rider is too heavy for a particular model. The 150 models have a maximum weight range of 125 lbs., 250 models with handle up to 165 lbs. So make sure not to ride models that aren't designed for your body weight. It's also important to learn to accelerate SMOOTHLY & SLOWLY and then slow down by GENTLY & EVENLY braking. If you slam on the motor brake you can go through belts and it's also hard on the motor, so it should be avoided. |
