ALTERED™ 2G Digital Wireless

In reality an Altered Electric Skateboard is both a skateboard and a wireless computer. For 09, we spent nearly a year & a half developing the finest digital wireless electronics available. We have the patent on the wireless feature and we partnered with a Silicon Valley corporation to raise the bar to the highest levels.

How does it work? and how does it Start & Stop? The board is controlled with a handheld wireless controller that offers a variable throttle and motor braking. You simply stand on the board and pull the trigger SLOWLY & SMOOTHLY to accelerate, and push the trigger forward GENTLEY to brake. With a little experience, it's relatively simple to "roll the board along" at low speeds. Pushing forward on the controller's trigger applies resistance to the skateboard's motor, providing an effective braking system to slow the board down. With an Altered™ Electric Skateboard, you have hands free operation, so there's no tether to get tangled up in.

EXKATE® Torsion Trucks

Patented Exkate torsion trucks TWIST & REBOUND to turn. Right out of the gate these trucks made a quantum leap in skateboard turning technology. They allow tighter radius turns. Combined with oversized wheels and cutting edge shapes - the result is simply amazing.

DWINDLE EPX RESIN DECKS

At Altered, we are extremely proud to be featuring Dwindle manufactured epoxy (EPX Resin) decks for our updated 2009 Production Series. Skater's world-wide recognize Dwindle/DSM Premium Woodshop as an industry leader producing famous brands including: Almost, Darkstar, Enjoi, Blind and more!

Epoxy is more aggressive than the normal water-base glue, which is the industry standard. Since epoxy is so strong, less of it is used yielding a considerably lighter, better deck. It's also much stiffer, which keeps it performing longer and it also holds together longer than normal skatedecks. For ALTERED™ Electric Skateboards this improvement is simply awesome, for it resists the stress placed by the extra weight, vibration & twisting strain, which we place our boards in.

The epoxy resin locks the plies together much tighter while the decks are in the presses during manufacturing. Normal decks always bounce back a bit as the newly pressed veneers fight their new shape of the intended mold. These EXP Resin decks heavily reduce this bounce back. What it all comes down to is we are striving to make the best electric skateboards on the planet and ALTERED is the original & the best! Accept nothing less!
